Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Loan Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in lending, excellent member service skills, and a deep understanding of the credit union difference. This role involves taking and evaluating loan applications, making lending decisions, and providing financial advice to our members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and process phone, online, and in-person consumer loan applications, including personal, auto, mortgage, and HELOCs.
- Make lending decisions within established guidelines and policies.
- Provide financial advice to members.
- Develop and maintain relationships with members, ensuring their financial needs are met.
- Assist with lending support functions including processing title applications, filing UCCs, line of credit renewals, loan payoffs, collecting delinquent accounts and other loan servicing needs.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
- Collaborate with other team members to achieve credit union goals.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2-5 years’ experience as a loan officer or related field is preferred; however, we are willing to train the right person.
- Strong knowledge of lending practices and credit analysis.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in loan processing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
